For many of us, the first three levels of learning followed a rather boring pattern:

  • Read
  • Answer the questions.
  • Take the test.

By now you’ve seen that even in these early steps we’re not limited to boring teaching methods. There are MANY ways to help children remember, understand the material, and learn to apply their new knowledge appropriately in a variety of situations.

But that’s not all there is. That’s only the half of it.

Literally.

There are three more levels of understanding that allow students to soar.

The first three levels of learning give students the tools for thinking, but the next three teach them HOW to think critically and creatively–how to use the tools of knowledge to develop new solutions and ideas. And THAT, if we’re talking about true mastery, is our goal!

Come back over the next few days as we unwrap the next three higher levels of learning.
