Lukenbach, Texas has enjoyed a reputation as a Country & Western music venue since Jerry Jeff Walker recorded his “outlaw country” classic, Viva Terlingua, at the Luckenbach dance hall in the summer of 1973. But fiddler Johnny Gimble was a classic long before, and last weekend several country & western swing bands paid tribute to Gimble in Lukenbach.

This is Hot Club of Cowtown. Aren’t they amazing? Truly one of the unique sounds of Texas! 🙂

This event was very family-friendly, with fans from 8-88 playing, dancing, and singing along. You can check for other “free and family-friendly” features at the Lukenbach website, including “Bach to Lukenbach”–a fundraiser for the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras–on Thursday, June 11, 2015.
