Research shows that we only remember about 10% of what we see and 20% of what we hear.

So what do we tell kids? “Read Chapters 1-3 to prepare for tomorrow’s lecture.” Why?

When we’re involved in learning–when we can see, hear, smell, taste, and get our hands dirty–retention skyrockets to 70%. And if we can then share what we’ve learned, we may remember as much as 90%.
