“… it is more important to occupy this Post than I imagined when I last saw you — It is the key of Texas …”  ~William B. Travis

This year, 2018, marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of San Antonio! Fortress Alamo: The Key to Texas tells the story of the small collection of fortified communities that has grown to become a large city–the 7th largest in the United States–which still functions as a military hub. For three centuries, its location and resources have made the region a vital region to many cultures.

The Fortress Alamo exhibit will be on display from February 1 through December 31, 2018 in the Alamo Annex adjacent to the mission.

As always, the Alamo, including this exhibit, is open to the public free of charge.
