There’s so much to see and do at the Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Canyon, Texas!

  • You can camp, hike, ride horseback, and hear rangers tell about the wildlife in the area, the tragic Battle of Palo Duro or the rugged home of Charles Goodnight.
  • You can camp in tents, campers or cabins, cook over an open fire, and much s’mores while gazing at the vast, starry sky.

Make future plans to splurge on a barbeque dinner and show, watching an outdoor performance of Texas!–a Texas classic played out against the backdrop of the canyon walls. Sadly, the show has been cancelled this summer to safeguard the actors (students from Texas Tech University) from COVID, but the play is well worth a second trip. Texas! has been the official play of the state of Texas for over 50 years. It’s been voted one of the top 100 attractions in the nation and is listed in the Top 10 theaters in the USA. Click here for a preview…or watch this video preview.

This is one of those “Gotta Do It” Texas field trips! Trust me, your family will never forget it! 🙂
