It’s hard to believe I wrote the original version of Discover Texas 25 years ago!
In April 1999, I was desperately searching for a state history program that would be meaningful, memorable, and fun…but all I found were boring textbooks.
So I created a program for my own kids one month at a time. Friends saw it and asked if I’d consider selling it, and the rest is history!
That first edition came out month by month on CD-ROMs. I mailed them out as fast as I could create them.
By 2000, I had completed the program and began selling it at homeschool bookfairs, totally unaware, at the time, that I’d created an “ebook.” I didn’t even know what that was!
Just before the 2016 bookfair season I converted from CDs to a program that was all online.
