Are your homeschool days suffering from the mid-winter blahs?

A field trip is a GREAT way to spark things up!

THSC Capitol Days is one of the BEST and MOST UNIQUE opportunities you can give your children to help them understand how our government works. That’s why I highly recommend it in the Discover Texas History curriculum, though you only have 3 chances to attend every other year when the Texas Legislature is in session. But YOU’RE IN LUCK! 2019 is the year, and there are a few openings left for the first Capitol Days event taking place NEXT MONDAY, February 4th.

If I were you, I’d JUMP on this and register right away! All three events follow the same pre-planned and well-orchestrated format, but the pace of the kick-off event is often more relaxed and uncrowded, giving YOUR child more access as an active participant.

Your students will hear presentations from legislative representatives and lobbyists, participate in roll-play activities, have an opportunity to watch the State Legislature in session, personally meet and shake hands with state representatives, and gain firsthand experience with the workings of government. Everything is organized for you. All you have to do is get them there, and Austin is…well, central to everywhere.

We participated in this well-designed event several times with our own children. They learned so much every time they went! Capitol Days truly is one of the best field trips out there, and I’m not just saying that. This one gets a “Don’t Miss” rating and is in my Top 3. 🙂

I just checked, and they still have a few spots available even for the first event on Monday, February 4! If I were you, I’d get registered quick … then I’d call a friend! Field trips are always more fun when you do them together. 🙂
